Fatal Head-On Collision Kills David Louis in Centerville


A man died in a fatal head-on collision that took place in Centerville on Sunday, April 26. The unfortunate victim was identified by the authorities as David Louis, 56, of Sparta, Illinois as per the accident reports.

According to the details shared by the authorities, the fatal incident occurred in the 7900 block of the Lake Drive. It happened at night and was reported to the authorities around 7:20 p.m.

It is not clear at this point how the head-on collision took place. Louis was driving on the Lake Drive when his vehicle crashed head-on into another vehicle. According to the local police detectives, the two vehicles involved in the crash have been identified as a 2010 Chrysler 300 and a 1989 Oldsmobile 98. Once the crash was reported, first responders and law enforcement personnel arrived on the scene of the accident. They found both cars with significant frontal damage due to the impact of the head-on accident.

Louis sustained critical injuries in the crash. He was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at around 9:50 p.m. The St. Clair County Coroner initially kept his identity secret but made available the identification details later.

The name of the other driver involved in the crash is not known at this time. The driver has been identified as a 61-year-old male. This second driver also sustained injuries in the collision and was taken to a hospital in St. Louis. The nature and extent of his injuries are not known as per the accident reports available so far.
