Christopher Dilling Tragically Killed in Belton Solo-Vehicle Crash


Accident reports obtained the death of a man whose vehicle crashed while driving along the Lake Road/FM 439 in Belton, Texas. The fatal occurrence was encountered late at night on Wednesday, April 29.

Officers were deployed to the location just after 9:56 pm, after a caller reported the ghastly highway rash that left a motorist in critical condition.

When Belton Police department officers arrived, the found the victim unresponsive on the roadway, with his severely dented car a few feet away.

Investigations conducted at the crash site revealed that the driver was traveling through the east traffic lanes of Lake Road/FM 439 when he lost control of his vehicle.

Detectives did not immediately determine what caused the motorist to lose control, but said that he ran across both lanes as a result. The vehicle soon drifted off the road, and ran into several trees located off the highway before wounding up on the westbound traffic route.

The driver of the car, later identified as Christopher Dilling, 27, of Copperas Cove was ejected from his vehicle during the frenzy, and sustained severe injuries.

Emergency responders pronounced Dillings dead at the scene. No one else was present in the vehicle with him at the time of the crash.

The investigations were carried out by the Belton authorities, with assistance from the Texas Department of Public safety and Texas Department of transportation.
