Leroy Jefferson Jr. Identified as Man Killed in Bakersfield Motorcycle Accident

Leroy Jefferson Jr.

Authorities have disclosed the identity of the motorcycle rider who was killed last week when his motorcycle crashed into a passing vehicle in Bakersfield, California. The Kern County Coroner’s office, in a press release on Monday, May 4th, named the victim as 56-year-old Leroy Jefferson Jr., of Los Angeles. The involvement of a motorcycle accident attorney was, however, not specified in the release.

The occurrence was recorded at about 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 2nd, on Interstate 5 Freeway, a few miles from Grapevine Road. Police said the wreck involved at least two vehicles and left no fewer than one person deceased.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was the rider and sole occupant of a Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling through the south traffic lanes of I-5. For reasons yet to be established, the bike crashed into a semi-truck moving in the same direction from behind.

The impact caused the cyclist to get ejected from the motorbike before it fell onto the ground. Emergency responders declared Leroy Jefferson Jr. dead at the scene. Police believe drugs or alcohol did not contribute to the fatal crash.

Following the incident, all lanes of Interstate 5 were closed for hours while investigators gathered the necessary on-site evidence. Investigations into the deadly collision are still in the works.

Anyone involved in a motorbike accident is encouraged to contact a motorcycle accident attorney for representation.
