One of three men struck by a hit-and-run motorist while en route Arizona from Monsey was pronounced dead in the Flagstaff area of Arizona. The incident took place late at night on Sunday, May 3rd, according to the accident reports. The victim was later identified as Moshe Just, 18.

The incident began when three teenage yeshivah bachurium on a cross-country trip encountered a stranded driver who had developed a flat tire on Route 89 just before midnight. The men pulled over in a bid to render assistance to the stranded motorist.

Just as they alighted their car and approached the disabled vehicle, a car, traveling at a high rate of speed through the state route, struck the three men, knocking down at least two of them.

The motorist failed to pull over and aid the victim but continued on their way without stopping. One of the bachurium suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead by the emergency response team. The other two teenagers were treated for minor injuries.

Authorities disclosed the identity of the deceased bachur as Moshe Just, an 18-year-old from Monsey, New York. The identities of the two injured bachurium were not disclosed.

Shiliach in Flagstaff, Arizona, Rabbi Dovie Schapiro assisted the on-site investigation, the accident reports confirmed.

No information about the motorist has been obtained, but going by the witness accounts, police believe the hit-and-run driver had been under the influence of drugs/alcohol when they struck the victims.
