The motorist who died during the weekend after his vehicle crashed into an electric pole and overturned in Wichita Falls, Texas, has been identified. An update of the accident reports supplied by the Wichita Falls Police Department on Monday, May 4th, confirmed that the victim was a Mexican man named Isaias Gomez.

The accident took place on Sunday, May 3rd. According to the police authorities, officers responded to the incident shortly after 1:30 a.m. in the area of McNiel Avenue and Lambeth Way on reports of an overturned vehicle.

When deputies arrived, they found the victim unresponsive on the scene, with multiple injuries, lying half-way inside his dented car. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was driving a 2003 Chevy through the north travel lanes on McNeil Avenue.

For unknown reasons, the vehicle swerved sideways and smashed violently into a metal light pole. The impact of the collision caused the car to flip over, partially expelling the driver, before eventually coming to rest on its roof.

Isaias Gomez suffered severe head trauma in the ghastly collision and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Some residents of Wichita Falls, where the crash occurred, confirmed the victim’s identity to the police as he reportedly had no relatives or next of kin staying nearby.

The accident reports failed to ascertain whether there was someone else present in the vehicle when the crash happened, or the exact cause of the collision. The crash remains under investigation.
