Emilio Rueda Emerges Fatal Victim in Waco Solo-Vehicle Crash

A teenager turned up dead this week after a vehicle he was riding in crashed into an electric pole in Waco, Texas. Police said in the accident reports that the crash happened on the morning of Wednesday, May 13.

Officers responded to the crash just before 7:30 a.m., on reports of a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Robinson Drive and Primrose Drive. Police said the crash involved a pickup truck and left two casualties in its wake including a teenage boy identified as Emilio Rueda, 18.

Investigations conducted at the site of the traffic collision revealed that the victim was traveling as the sole passenger in a 2003 GMC Sierra Pickup. The truck was moving southbound on Robinson Drive, with an unidentified motorist behind the wheels.

When the vehicle approached the road’s intersection with Primrose, the motorist lost control for reasons yet to be determined. As a result, the pickup swayed off the roadway, to the side of the road where it smashed into a utility pole. The impact of the collision caused Rueda to be ejected from the vehicle before it eventually came to rest underneath the pole.

The Audi suffered serious damages, leaving its two occupants severely injured. Responding medics pronounced the teenager dead at the scene. They took the operator of the truck to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries described in the accident reports as non-life-threatening.

Detectives are still investigating to ascertain the cause of the tragic collision.
