A man has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses follow a crash that occurred last Saturday.
He is 20-year-old Angel T. Jones and his alleged victims could have grounds to consult a top accident lawyer.
The authorities said Jones was driving fast and he ignored a stop sign before smashing into a vehicle.
The driver is now accused of reckless driving, disobeying a stop sign, driving without a valid driver’s license, operating a vehicle without insurance and unlawful use of registration.
Around 3:10 p.m. last Saturday, the Zion Police Department and Zion Fire Rescue Department were called to the scene of a three-vehicle crash at 21st Street and Hebron Avenue.
Police Chief Kirk Henderson said based on eyewitness reports, Jones was driving a 2011 Nissan Versa north on Hebron Avenue.
When he got to the stop sign at 21st Street, he kept driving and he hit a westbound Chevrolet Trax.
The Trax sustained major damage to its front and both front airbags deployed.
Meanwhile, Jones’ vehicle came to rest against a parked Chevrolet Impala on Hebron Avenue.
The Nissan’s damage was also significantly damaged, and its front airbags also inflated. The Impala only received minor damage.
Two unnamed individuals were taken to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan while the other was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center.
No one’s injuries seemed to be life-threatening
Henderson reported that contrary to the rumors floating around on social media, the car Jones was driving was not stolen.
Jones was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and he is expected in court on July 14.
It is not yet known if the injured people will seek advice from a top accident lawyer.
