Coroner Identifies Fatal Victim of Holiday Hills Traffic Collision as Victoria Miller

On Wednesday, June 10th, the Lake County Coroner Dr. Howard Cooper identified the woman who died in a traffic collision in Holiday Hills, Illinois, last week. In updated accident reports, he disclosed her name as Victoria Miller, a 56-year-old McHenry resident.

An autopsy disclosed that the victim died from multiple traumatic injuries. The initial crash report released by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office showed that the accident took place on Wednesday, June 3rd. At about 7:26 p.m. that day, deputies and fire crew from the McHenry Township Fire District responded to a traffic collision call at South River Road north of Sunset Drive.

The preliminary investigation uncovered that a 2017 Acura TLX driven by a 20-year-old McHenry woman drove from the northbound lanes of South River into the road heading south. She collided with a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by a 65-year-old Lake in the Hills man and a 2005 Harley-Davidson bike driven by Miller.

The two riders and a 9-year-old female passenger from Mandeville, Louisiana, on the victim’s motorcycle were ejected in the collision. An ambulance took Miller to Advocate Condell Medical Center, where she died, and the little girl received treatment for severe injuries at Northwestern Medicine Hospital.

The medics used an air ambulance to take the male rider to the same hospital as the victim, where he remains in critical condition. The MCSO said the motorcyclists were not wearing helmets, but the little girl was. The driver of the Acura was uninjured.

The police closed the affected roadway for about six hours while they investigated. The MCSO Major Crash Investigation Unit, Holiday Hills Police Department, and the LCCO are keeping the investigation active.
