Sport Utility Vehicle Crash Injures Dylan L. Ealy, Two Others


A collision between two sport utility vehicles left three people injured. The Cumberland County incident took place on Friday, July 3 as per accident reports from the state police.

According to the details shared by the Illinois State Police, one of the injured drivers was identified as Dylan L. Ealy, 20, of Toledo. Ealy was traveling westbound on the Illinois Route 121 when the incident occurred. Details gathered by the ISP show that Ealy apparently lost control of the vehicle. His vehicle then left the roadway before he overcorrected and veered it back onto the road.

This was when his vehicle crossed the center line of the road and collided with an oncoming vehicle. The driver of the oncoming vehicle was identified as Haley M. Honselman, 38, of Casey.

The incident occurred at night and was reported to the authorities between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Dylan L. Ealy and Honselman were among the three persons who were injured in the wake of the crash. The third victim was a passenger in Ealy’s vehicle who was identified by ISP as Dane L. Ealy, 18, of Toledo.

Dylan L. Ealy had two passengers in his vehicle at the time of the crash. A 9-year-old boy, also traveling in the car, sustained injuries while a 38-year-old passenger. Honselman also had a 38-year-old passenger, identified as Eric W. Honselman, traveling as a passenger in his car who remained safe from any injuries.

The injured persons were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Dylan Ealy was found negligent and was cited for improper lane use as well as failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision according to the latest accident reports.
