On Friday, August 14th, the Quincy Police Department, Illinois, arrested a woman for a fatal accident in the city. 36-year-old Natasha McBride would need a top accident lawyer’s service.
The crash happened around 5 p.m. in the area of 4th Street and Broadway Street. The news release by the QPD disclosed that the suspect traveled westbound on Broadway when she crashed into a vehicle heading north on 4th.
Witness statements informed the investigators that McBride traveled at top speed and ran a red light. Lt. Jeff Nevin said that the first collision led to a chain of other accidents, and they found several people injured with at least one fatality.
The police did not release the name of the fatal victim due to non-notification of the next-of-kin. Officers determined that McBride was under the influence of an intoxicant, and arrested her on charges of aggravated DUI, leaving the scene of an accident with fatalities, driving while license revoked, and reckless homicide.
The QPD had the assistance of the Quincy Fire Department and Adams County EMS at the scene. The crash led to the closure of 4th and Broadway; the police reopened it after clearing the crash site of debris and concluding their preliminary investigation.
Driving under the influence is a severe offense in Illinois. The state prohibits adults from driving with a blood alcohol concentration of .08% or above, and commercial drivers must have below .04% BAC. Teens and young persons below the age of 21 must have less than .01%, and offenders are liable to face severe punishments.
