Hegmar Flores Identified as the Fatal Victim of an Auto-Motorcycle Crash Near Desert Hot Springs

On Sunday, October 11th, the Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified Hegmar Flores as the fatal victim of an auto-motorcycle accident. It happened near Desert Hot Springs, California.

The accident report did not contain the events leading to the occurrence, but it disclosed that it took place around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 9th. The California Highway Patrol said the victim was in the area of Palm Drive and Camino Idilio.

The coroner’s office said Flores passed away at the crash site, but it is unclear if he was the motorcycle rider or an occupant of the pickup truck involved. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Auto-motorcycle collisions are not uncommon on California roadways, with over 800 000 motorcycle registered motorcycle riders. When the two collide, the motorcyclist is prone to suffer minor, severe, or fatal injuries due to the bike’s open design.

Therefore, motorcycle riders must pay attention when on the roadway, and wear a safety helmet compliant with the United States Department of Transportation guidelines. The helmet should be fasted appropriately, have face and eye protection, and inlet and outlet for air.

Wear protective apparel like leather jackets, long pants, full-fingered gloves, and ankle-length boots. Ride defensively, watch out for vehicles with blind spots, maintain the speed limit, and increase visibility.

Avoid weaving in and out of traffic and lane splitting, and avoid operating the bike under the influence of drugs or alcohol. When at intersections, obey the stop signs, and avoid running red lights.
