Motor vehicle collisions are one of the leading causes of fatalities in California and the United States. Several factors, either human-made or external lead to accidents, and they are avoidable if drivers obey the road’s rules and prioritize safety above all else.

Drivers should obey traffic rules and regulations, including all stop signs and traffic lights. When at an intersection, yield to an oncoming vehicle, and ensure there are no red or yellow light runners before crossing.

Use turn and exit signs and drive on the right side of the road except when about to turn. When behind other vehicles, leave at least four seconds space between cars, and yield to other motorists trying to overtake.
