On Thursday, June 25th, the San Diego Medical Examiner disclosed the name of the woman who died in a two-vehicle collision in Ramona, San Diego County, California. The ME named 56-year-old Deborah Kopki, of Fallbrook, as the victim.

The woman is one out of two people killed in the traffic collision of Wednesday, June 10th, on Mussey Grade Road near Buechner Drive. The 2-week-old accident happened at approximately 12:15 p.m. near Morrison Place, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The car accident report revealed that Kopki was heading north on Mussey in a 2016 Ford Focus when she crossed into the southbound lane, directly into the path of oncoming traffic. The woman collided with a 2017 Subaru Impreza, and the impact left her and an unidentified male front seat passenger in the second vehicle dead.

The CHP spokesman, Officer Travis Garrow, said that the unidentified female driver of the Impreza sustained severe injuries. The medics used an air ambulance to transport her to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido. The CHP said that the vehicles deployed their airbags, but Kopki, who was speeding, was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The second driver and her passenger were wearing seatbelts. The collision led to the closure of the affected roadway while the investigators collected evidence and cleared the scene of debris. The investigators had both cars towed as evidence, and the investigation into the incident remains active.
