Authorities Name Jamie Garcia as Injured Victim of Traffic Accident in Butte County

Authorities have disclosed the identity of the victim injured in a car accident which took place last week Tuesday along State Route 162, near Shasta Street in Butte County, California. The injured man was identified on Wednesday, March 18, as Jaime Garcia, a 45-year-old resident of Vina.

The incident took place at about 2:30 pm on Tuesday, March 10, after the victim’s car slammed into a trailer, as affirmed by the California Highway Patrol.

Officers of the CHP determined that the 45-year-old man was traveling east on SR-162 in a Ford F-250, just west of Shasta Street.

At the same time, a Chevy Silverado pulling a 30-foot home-designed equipment transportation trailer was treading through the eastbound traffic lanes on the state route, towards a right-angled bend on the highway.

The trailer overturned to its side negligently, in a bid to maneuver its way past the curve, but hit the Ford in the process, causing major damages.

The single occupant of the dented car, Jaime Garcia, suffered arm injuries as a result of the crash and was rushed to a medical facility for treatment.

However, the operator of the Chevrolet, Taylor Geisbrecht, 24, and his sole passenger, 30-year-old Guadalupe Paz-Frias of Vina, emerged from the wreck unharmed. No further information was released.

It was not immediately made clear if impairment was a factor in the traffic collision on either party. Further investigations into the tragic incident are underway.
