Deadly Metrolink Crash in Chatsworth

In the aftermath of the deadly Chatsworth Metrolink train crash and emergency crews completed their recovery on Sunday. Twenty-five people were killed and 135 were left injured, 45 of those critically, when a freight train and a Metrolink commuter train collided head-on in Chatsworth, California.

Metrolink has accepted responsibility for the crash siting an engineer’s error in missing a red light.  That engineer was also killed in the crash.  It is unclear why the engineer missed the redlight, but reports have surfaced that he may have been distracted, sending text messages to a teenage friend.
