Authorities on Wednesday, May 20, identified the victim of a fatal head-on collision involving two vehicles near Lake Cachuma, Santa Barbara, California. According to accident reports, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office revealed the victim’s identity as a 21-year-old man, Daniel Andrade of San Luis Obispo.
Reports from the California Highway Patrol stated that the collision happened on Friday, May 15, at about 5:30 PM. The victim was driving a 1999 Honda Accord and traveling east on Highway 154. He collided with a 2019 Ford car that had a 40-year-old woman from New Mexico as the driver.
Following the collision, both drivers sustained severe injuries. Paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed them to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara. However, Andrade died while he was receiving treatment of his injuries. There is no information about the woman’s condition.
