Fatal Victim of Ojai Motorcycle Crash Identified as Wayne Ortman

Authorities have disclosed the identity of a motorcyclist who died earlier this week in a tragic motorcycle collision in Ojai, California. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said on Friday, May 29, that 35-year-old Wayne Ortman, of Ventura, died in the tragic crash. Stemming from the incident, there may be an urgent need for the expert input of a motorcycle accident attorney.

Authorities received reports of the deadly accident shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 25. Callers said a motorcycle and a car collided on the southbound lanes of Highway 33 (Maricopa Highway). The encounter left the cyclist severely injured and unresponsive on the roadway, near his Honda CBR1000 bike.

The initial accident reports obtained from the Ojai Police indicated the motorcycle rider was traveling southbound on 33. At the same time, a Subaru, operated by a 65-year-old man, was plying the north lanes of travel on the Maricopa Highway.

Just as the Subaru was attempting a turn onto the adjoining lane, Ortman drove his motorbike into the side of the four-wheeled vehicle. The motorcyclist got thrown off the bike, causing him fatal injuries. First responders pronounced Ortman deceased at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver and a 66-year-old female passenger in the Subaru both sustained minor injuries. Medics transported them to a health facility for treatment.

Officers do not believe impairment played a role in the traffic collision, which remains under investigation.

It is essential for the victim’s family, in fatal motorcycle accidents, to seek legal counsel from a motorcycle accident attorney who could help secure maximum compensation for their losses.
