A hit-and-run driver who fled police was detained after causing a second accident.
The chase began on Wednesday on the Angeles Crest Highway in the San Gabriel Valley, when the suspect apparently collided with a Toyota Camera, causing it to be pushed off the road. There were two people inside the Camry, although their current status is unclear.
The suspect left the scene of the accident before the investigation was complete. He drove recklessly to evade police, driving down streets the wrong way, running red lights, and traveling faster than 100 miles per hour at times. At one point, the suspect narrowly avoided hitting two pedestrians in a crosswalk.
The chase ended at the intersection of East Olympic Boulevard and Server Avenue, when the suspect hit a Tahoe, causing it to flip over. Following the crash, the suspect left his car and continued to evade police on foot, but was eventually brought to justice.
