Motorcycle accidents are not uncommon in California roadways, and they happen due to otherwise avoidable reasons. To prevent crashes of this nature, motorcyclists must exercise care and caution when on the road, and obey traffic rules and regulations.
Safety tips for riding a motorcycle include wearing a helmet compliant with the US-DOT guidelines and face and eye protection. Wear protective apparel covering other parts of the body like long-sleeved leather jackets, long pants, ankle-length boots, and full-fingered gloves.
Ride defensively with the headlight on, and stay out of the blindspot of a motor vehicle. Never operate a motorcycle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, carry out regular maintenance of the bike, and keep riding skills honed through continuous education.
