Jacob Gutierrez Killed After Multiple Vehicle Accident on Freeway 105

The California Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office has released the name of the individual killed in a multi-vehicle accident on the 105 Freeway Sunday, March 22. The accident occurred around 7:20 p.m. in the westbound lanes.

The coroner has identified 22-year-old Jacob Gutierrez as the man killed in the accident. The California Highway Patrol has been vague with details pertaining to the accident. The reports released to the press did not indicate if anyone else was injured in the accident.

Circumstances leading up to the accident are not being released to the public at this time from the California Highway Patrol’s report.

Based on information obtained through a family member’s social media account, more information has been brought to the chain-of-events that lead to the death of Gutierrez.

The initial collision that occurred on the 105 Freeway was a hydroplaning accident involving Gutierrez’s girlfriend and a white Chevrolet Impala. The Impala left the scene of the accident. Family members went to the girl to help her and wait on the tow trucks.

While at the scene, another hydroplaning accident occurred, which is the collision that killed Gutierrez. The girl’s uncle and Gutierrez’s father were severely injured in the accident. They were taken to St. Francis Hospital, where they had to undergo surgery for their injuries.

The police are still investigating the accident, but the family is pleading for anyone who may have information, especially about the Impala, to contact the California Highway Patrol.
