Drivers Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash Identified as Dawn Connor and Susan Harris

Authorities have identified the drivers who were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Marquette County. The incident took place on Thursday, March 19. However, police didn’t immediately make available the identities of the drivers.

The drivers have now been identified by the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office. One of the drivers has been identified as Susan Harris, 72, of Marquette. The other driver is identified as Dawn Connor, 48, of Ishpeming.

According to the details shared in the Sheriff’s Report, the crash occurred at the intersection of the Wright Street and U.S. 41 West. It took place in the evening at around 3 p.m. Harris was driving a 2013 Buick on the Wright Street when she reached the intersection and took a turn to travel west on U.S. 71. Connor was riding a 2017 Nissan at the time and was westbound on the U.S. 71. As Connor took the turn onto the U.S. 71, she failed to yield the right of way to Harris. As a result, the two vehicles collided.

Both drivers sustained injuries in the crash, although their injuries are reported as minor and non-critical. Once EMS arrived on the site of the incident, both were transported to the UP Health System-Marquette. The vehicles involved in the crash were significantly damaged and were removed from the site by a towing service. Preliminary investigations revealed that Harris was to blame for failure to yield the right of way. She was cited accordingly. Michigan State Police, in addition to the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene of incident.
