A pedestrian hit and run caused the death of a 44-year-old man in the Clairemont neighborhood of San Diego on January 22, 2020. Three separate vehicles struck the victim. All three fled the scene. The victim was later identified as Shane Moore.
The incident took place in the 5500 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, just west of Interstate 805. At about 7:25p.m. on Wednesday evening, a car hit the man in the number two lane.
Because Moore was not in a crosswalk, had the driver stopped, there may have been no charges. However, when the driver fled, the incident became a hit-and-run.
Then, two more cars ran over the victim, and they also fled.
Eventually, another driver called 911. First responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
San Diego Police are seeking information on all three vehicles involved in this hit and run. The bumper of the first car came off during the impact. The second car was white, and the third vehicle may be a Jeep or something similar.
Currently, the San Diego Police Department has not determined fault for the original accident.
