A car accident report from the Turlock area of California on Saturday morning, August 29th, left two people injured. The California Highway Patrol identified the two as Gilroy residents Robert Paul Boykin, 53, and Ronda Boykin, 51.

A 37-year-old Turlock man drove one of the pickup trucks, a 2006 Toyota Tacoma westbound on Linwood. The investigators said that the man failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection. He then collided with a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado heading north on Crows.

The Toyota driver died from his injuries at the scene. The CHP have not released his identity. Robert, who operated the Chevrolet and Ronda, his passenger, suffered minor wounds and medics transported them to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto to receive treatment. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Vehicle collisions are one of the leading causes of deaths in California and the United States. Accidents happen when drivers disobey traffic rules and regulations, and behave negligently. Running through a stop sign at an intersection falls within the preceding.

Running through red and yellow lights also lead to accidents, as well as speeding, weaving in and out of traffic, and driving while imapired. Disobedience to traffic rules and regulations carry penalties, and offenders sometimes end up imprisoned.
