Woman Killed in San Mateo County Crash Identified as Tracey Ivori Sinclair

Tracey Ivori Sinclair

Four months after a woman was reported missing by her family, the California Highway Patrol has identified her as the driver of a vehicle that crashed around the same time. The CHP, in accident reports released on Wednesday, April 28, said that the missing woman, Tracey Ivori Sinclair of San Francisco, was the fatal victim of a mysterious crash that happened last year in Gray Whale Cove, California.

The incident first surfaced on December 30, 2019, after a dash-cam footage obtained from a traveling motorist captured a supposed accident.

The video showed an SUV speeding along Highway 1, past the shoulder of the road, and then up an embankment before becoming airborne and plummeting downwards into the underlying water body.

Following the video tip-off, authorities conducted a search and rescue operation on the area, but neither the vehicle nor the motorist was found at the time.

However, several months later, the motorist’s remains washed up on a state beach in Montara. The driver’s license found on the remains indicated that the dead person was Tracey Ivori Sinclair.

A run of the driver’s license through the California Department of Motor Vehicles records confirmed that the motorist was the registered owner of the 2007 Lexus SUV shown in the video months before.

Also, the circumstantial evidence was backed by a missing person report filed by the decedent’s family around the time as well as a DNA match confirmed by the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office, the CHP stated in the accident reports.
