Dino, 46 and Leila Milon, 45, died in a tragic accident last week in Woodland Hills. In their car at the time of the crash were their daughters, Nila 12, and Iyla, 10 who survived, but were seriously injured and remain at the hospital. The crash occurred on Oso Avenue and West Califa St. at approximately 10:50am on September 26th.
There has been no final conclusion by the LAPD as to what they believe the cause of this accident to be. There have been reports that indicate speed to be a primary factor and that Dino Milon may have ran a stop-sign but these have not been confirmed nor should they be conclusive without a proper investigation into the condition of the car itself and whether there were any defects or not.
The Milon’s were in a Toyota Rav 4 which flipped over after crashing into a parked Ford F-150 pickup truck. Emergency teams and police officers arrived on the scene shortly after where both parents were pronounced dead.
TOYOTA RAV 4 ACCELERATOR DEFECT – DANGEROUS SUDDEN ACCELERATION PROBLEMS IN TOYOTAS
It is unclear why Milon’s vehicle was travelling at such a high rate of speed in this residential neighborhood. An immediate, independent investigation must begin to determine the sequence of events preceding the crash and after. All evidence must be preserved including any blackbox information and other physical evidence that would help identify the cause of the crash.
One serious possibility is that the Toyota Rav 4 had problems. Some Rav 4 versions are known to have accelerator problems, causing an unintended increase in speed with the inability to slow down or stop. This would certainly explain the high rate of speed and why Milon’s vehicle would be in trouble. The Toyota Rav4 has been one of the models that Toyota acknowledged has problems with the sticky pedal or defective accelerator.
