Authorities: David Shrake Injured In Single-Vehicle Crash Near Beecher City


Illinois State Police have identified the 94-year-old man injured in a crash Sunday afternoon near Beecher City.

State troopers told local media outlets that David Shrake, of Beecher City, was driving on Illinois 128 near Beecher City when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle veered off the roadway, struck a sign and eventually came to rest in a field.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident, according to reports.

Shrake was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the wreck, according to authorities. Investigators spoke with Shrake, who reported that he blacked out while driving, which led to the wreck.

Additional details about the crash weren’t immediately available. Shrake was not cited by authorities after the incident.
