Authorities: Eduardo Galvez Killed Saturday In Cook County Crash

Authorities said a motorcyclist was killed Saturday in Cook County when he was struck by a vehicle.

Eduardo Galvez, 29, of Addison, was pronounced dead soon after the wreck, which occurred at about 6:45 p.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of South Harlem Avenue. Drivers of two other vehicles involved in the wreck refused treatment at the scene, authorities told local media outlets.

North Riverside police said Galvez was driving south when he was struck by a vehicle turning into a parking lot for a local grocery store. The driver of the vehicle who struck Galvez then struck another car in the parking lot.

Authorities did not publicly identify the drivers of the other vehicles involved in the crash.

Galvez was transported to the Loyola Center for Health, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy Sunday and determined Galvez’ death was an accident, local media outlets reported. Multiple injuries contributed to his death, officials from the medical examiner’s office said.

It’s unclear whether any other factors contributed to the crash. The investigation is ongoing, according to local authorities.
