Charlotte Clark and Three Minor Passengers Injured After Single-Car Accident

A Saturday, April 18, an accident has left the four occupants of a vehicle injured and charges pending against the driver. 45-year-old Charlotte Clark of Macomb, Illinois, was driving a red 2002 Honda Accord westbound on County Road 1500 North when the single-car accident occurred.

Based on the preliminary investigation conducted by the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred close to 3:15 p.m. near the intersection of County Road 1100 East. Clark’s vehicle left the roadway with three minors, aged 6, 15, and 17, in the car.

When her car left the road, Clark overcorrected back onto the roadway and across both lanes of traffic before landing in the southside ditch. After the car rolled, it came to rest on the pavement. Clark and one of the passengers ended up ejected from the vehicle during the accident. The reports were not clear which passenger was ejected.

A helicopter was required to take Clark to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries. The minors went to a local hospital via ambulance. All of their injuries were considered non-life threatening.

Clark and the ejected passenger were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. It was not evident in the report if the other two minors were using them either. There have been no updates as to the condition of the four accident victims.

Clark is facing charges in conjunction with the accident. They are not being made public at this time. The relationship of the minors in the vehicle was not made known.
