11-Month-Old Girl Thrown From SUV in Semi-Truck Crash

75An 11-month-old girl was ejected from an SUV when a semi-trailer truck heading north on Dearborn Street ran a red light and struck the SUV on Ohio Street.  Apparently, the child was not strapped into a child seat and was being held in the back seat by a passenger of the SUV.  The child is reportedly in stable condition at Lurie Children’s Hospital.

Police cited the driver of the SUV for not having a valid driver’s license and for failing to restrain a child under the age of 4.  The driver of the semi-truck was cited for running the red light.
