Nearly fifty passengers were injured this morning during rush hour when two Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) trains collided at a station approximately 10 miles west of downtown Chicago.
According to CTA spokeswoman Lambrini Lukidis the crash occurred when an eastbound train hit a westbound train that was stopped at the Harlem station in Forest Park. Anthony Calderone, the mayor of Forest Park, stated that he was told as many as four dozen passengers were injured in the crash. The injured passengers were taken to local hospitals in the area, many reporting neck and back pain.
