HELP: Hit and Run Victim Killed in San Diego


12To those in San Diego, your help is needed in finding the driver of a hit-and-run vehicle that struck and killed Aaron “Kurtis” Voorheis, age 35.

On Sunday February 23, 2014, Kurtis was walking his roommate’s dog on University Avenue near Vermont Street, when he was struck by an unidentified 2-door dark maroon pickup truck headed eastbound on University. Kurtis was pronounced dead at the scene.

“This is a tragedy that has impacted the entire San Diego community. They are deeply saddened by this loss and send our thoughts and prayers to Kurtis’ family and friends,” said Reza Torkzadeh, attorney at Our sponsoring personal injury law firm who is representing the family.

The vehicle was been described as a 2-door dark maroon pickup truck with at least two passengers. The truck had red “4×4 sticker on the rear quarter panel.

“Our understanding is that there were at least two individuals in the truck that struck and killed Kurtis. If the driver does not come forward, we implore the passenger to put in a tip and help bring not only peace to Kurtis’ family, but to bring justice to the most henious type of crime,” said Torkzadeh.
