The identification of a teenage girl killed this week in a traffic collision in Douglas County, Illinois, calls for the intervention of a car accident lawyer. The Douglas County Coroner’s Office identified the victim on Tuesday, June 9, as Rebecca Urbeck, a 19-year-old resident of Tuscola.

The Illinois State Police officials responded to the crash shortly after 10:45 a.m. on Monday, June 8, following reports of a traffic collision that left one person unresponsive. It happened on U.S. Route 36, near the Douglas County 300 East Road in the Tuscola area, police said.

In a press release, the ISP divulged that the victim was driving her vehicle along Route 36, on the east lanes of travel. For reasons under investigation, the motorist let her vehicle cross the dividing line into oncoming traffic. Almost immediately, Urbeck’s car struck a westbound semi-truck head-on. The woman did not survive the wreck.

The ISP records did not indicate if any other casualty resulted from the accident. No additional detail is available at this time.

The incident remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police. Investigators would try to establish whether speed, impairment, distracted driving, or other factors may have contributed to the accident. Subsequent reports would include available updates on the case.

Victims of road accidents or their families should endeavor to seek counsel, and if deemed necessary, representation, from a car accident lawyer as soon as possible.
