The victim of an industrial accident which took place earlier this week in McCook, Illinois, has now been identified. Authorities identified the victim as Matt Barr, 37.
According to the details shared by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the incident happened at Progress Rail on Tuesday, March 10. Once the authorities were notified about the incident, the McCook Fire Department was among the first to respond. According to McCook Fire Chief, paramedics with the department provided emergency aid to Barr in an attempt to stabilize him. He was then rushed to the Loyola Medical Center. However, he couldn’t recover from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Barr was employed by Kato Engineering when the incident happened. The firm is based out of Mankato, Minnesota. Barr began working for the firm back in 2011 and remained employed until 2016.
