Myron Beeler Dies in Hancock County Crash

An early morning crash in Hancock County, Illinois, on Monday, May 25, left Myron Beeler, 68, dead. Another man, Joseph Krumer, 29, was arrested and charged and would need a drunk driving attorney.

The Illinois State Police reported that the crash occurred at about 4:11 a.m. Krumer, from Warsaw, was driving northbound on Warsaw Road, while Beeler was a passenger in the vehicle. On approaching a curve, the driver lost control of the car and veered off the road. He struck a ditch that had a rock ledge, causing the vehicle to turn over.

When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they pronounced Beeler dead, while Krumer sustained minor injuries. They took him to a local hospital where he received treatment.

ISP charged Krumer with aggravated DUI, leaving the scene of a fatal crash, and reckless homicide. They, however, didn’t release further details about the accident.

Many reports show that some motorists flee the scene after the occurrence of an accident. Fleeing a crash scene is against the law, and those found guilty of doing such run the risk of incurring severe sentences if eventually convicted.

After an accident occurs, the first step to take is to report the crash and call paramedics in case of an injury. All parties involved must then wait for the police to arrive and narrate the details of the wreck accurately.

No one should leave the scene unless the police permit them to do so. A driver charged with DUI after an accident will need the services of a drunk driving attorney.
