Pedestrian Kenisha Hall Killed in Accident Near Pontiac

A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident that took place on Thursday, March 26. According to the details shared by the Illinois State Police in a statement released on Thursday, the victim has been identified as Kenisha Hall, 25, of Berwyn.

The incident took place a few miles from Pontiac on Illinois 23. It occurred in the early hours of the morning and the authorities were notified of it at about 4:30 a.m. Hall was walking across the intersection of the Livingston County Road 2100 North and Illinois 23 when she was hit by a passenger vehicle.

Hall sustained critical injuries in the crash. Livingston County Coroner’s Office assisted at the scene of the incident. Once Coroner’s Office personnel arrived at the site of the crash, Hall was pronounced dead.

Illinois State Police continues to investigate the incident. In so doing, it is assisted by other local departments. ISP has not shared any details regarding the passenger vehicle involved in the accident. It is also unclear at this point whether or not the other driver was injured in the collision.

Preliminary investigations point that the passenger vehicle was not at fault in the crash. This is substantiated by the fact that ISP didn’t issue any tickets following the incident. However, as the investigation is still ongoing, it is too early to determine who was negligent in the incident. Once the investigations conclude, ISP is likely to determine for sure whether or not the driver involved in the crash was negligent in any way.
