Single-Vehicle Crash Kills Robert M. Robinson and 1 Other


Two men lost their lives in a single-vehicle crash that took place in the Whiteside County on April 11, Saturday. According to the accident reports surrounding the incident, it happened at night and was reported to the authorities at around 8 p.m.

Deputies with the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office responded to the single-vehicle accident which took place on the Illinois Route 84. A single vehicle, identified as a 2019 Dodge Ram, was traveling northbound on the Route 84. Just north of Fulton, the driver of the vehicle apparently lost control. It veered off the road, entered the ditch on the eastern side of the road and struck a tree.

The Dodge Ram had three occupants in it at the time of the crash. These include the driver and two passengers. The driver was identified as Robert M. Robinson, 50, of Savanna. The first passenger was Paul H. Yarolem, 56, also of Savanna. Debra S. Robinson, 47, of Savanna was the second passenger in the vehicle.

All three passengers sustained serious injuries in the crash. Robinson and Yarolem incurred critical injuries. As first responders and local officials arrived on the scene of the crash, both were pronounced dead by the Whiteside County Coroner.

The third occupant, Robinson, was transported to the Mercy Hospital, Clinton. She remains under treatment at the hospital for her injuries, as per the accident reports so far. Authorities continue to investigate the incident, with a focus on trying to determine exactly how and why Robinson lost control of the vehicle.
