Two persons suffered non-serious injuries in a motorcycle-car accident that took place in the Champaign County on March 30, Monday.
According to the details shared by the Illinois State Police, the incident was reported at around 2 p.m. It occurred at the intersection of the County Road 125E and U.S. 150. A motorcycle and a car collided in which the riders on the motorcycle sustained injuries.
Both the motorcycle and the car involved in the crash were traveling westbound on the U.S. 150 at the time. At the intersection, the driver of the car attempted to take a left turn. Just then, the motorcycle driver tried to drive past the car, resulting in a collision between the two.
Two persons were riding the motorcycle at this time and both were ejected following the crash. ISP identified the driver of the motorcycle as Ryan Holt, 33, of Bloomington. The identity of the passenger on the motorcycle was not revealed. The driver of the car remained safe and didn’t incur any injuries in the accident. Details about the incident made available by the state troopers do not reveal whether or not the injured parties have been released from the hospital following treatment.
Preliminary investigations by ISP revealed that the driver of the motorcycle was at fault in causing the crash. Holt was cited for a number of traffic violations including a violation of driver’s license qualification, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and improper crossing at a road intersection.
