Taryn Bailey and 1 Other Hospitalized Following T-Bone Crash in Vienna

Two people sustained injuries in a rollover crash involving two cars in Vienna, Illinois. The mishap played out late morning on Thursday, July 2, and calls for the involvement of a car injury lawyer.

The Illinois State Police and the Vienna Fire Department responded to Old Metropolis Road and IL 146 just after 11:05 a.m. Callers reported that two vehicles collided near McDonald’s, leaving one of them lying on its roof.

Preliminary investigations indicated that a motorist, identified as Taryn Bailey, 18, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer north on Old Metropolis. At the same time, 23-year-old Hanna Travis, of Kentucky was heading west on IL 146 in a Chevrolet Cruz.

ISP said that Bailey drove into IL 146 directly into the path of Travis’ vehicle, which had the right of way at the time. As a result, the Cruz slammed into the passenger side of Bailey’s car. The impact of the collision caused the Trailblazer to overturn onto its roof.

Bailey and two passengers present in the car with her remained trapped inside until Vienna Fire Department personnel arrived and rescued them. Johnson County Ambulance conveyed the motorist and a 13-year-old male passenger to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The second passenger, a 10-year-old girl, did not suffer injuries in the collision. Travis also went unscathed.

Following the crash, officers shut down all lanes on IL 146 and Old Metropolis Road as they conducted on-site investigations. Traffic activities on the roadway resumed about an hour later.
