Lexus Thomas Named as Fatal Victim of North Attleboro Crash

In the updated reports of a car accident which occurred over the weekend in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, police identified a female motorist who died in the crash. The North Attleboro Police, on Tuesday, May 12, named the fatal victim as Lexis Thomas, a 25-year-old resident of Woonsocket.

Officers said the crash involved a single vehicle driving through South Washington Street by Calvin Road at about 8 p.m. The fatal victim was travelling as a passenger in the wrecked car.

Investigators gathered that the vehicle, driven by 31-year-old Antonio Whitfield of Broad Street was northbound on South Washington Street at the time. His car for unknown reasons veered off the roadway and crashed into a utility pole.

The impact of the collision caused severe damages to the vehicle. Paramedics accompanying the emergency response team transported the injured woman to Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro, where she eventually succumbed to her wounds.

Officers believe drugs and alcohol did not contribute to the collision. They have not filed any charges against Whitfield at this time. Detectives are actively investigating the fatal wreck to determine what caused the motorist to leave the road. State police accident reconstruction experts are also assisting in the investigations.

Authorities urge motorists to always adhere to traffic regulations at all times. Also, commuters should strive to report car accidents as soon as they occur or whenever witnessed to facilitate a timely response, which could increase the victims’ chances of survival.
