Authorities on Sunday identified the man killed Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Wales.

Liam Boehne, 44, of Wales, was pronounced dead, shortly after the crash Saturday on Hollow Road, according to an update posted by the Massachusetts State Police. No one else was injured and no other vehicles were involved in the wreck, according to authorities.

Police said Boehne was driving on Hollow Road at 11:22 a.m. Saturday when he crashed into a utility pole. Emergency responders transported Boehne to Wing Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

State police said “the exact cause and circumstances” of the crash are under investigation, and it wasn’t immediately clear what led Boehne to strike the utility pole.
