Authorities have identified the man killed in a single-vehicle wreck Sunday morning near Dorchester.

Joseph Lambright, 45, of Fall River, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck, according to a news release Monday from the Massachusetts State Police. No other vehicles were involved and no additional injuries were reported.

Troopers at about 7 a.m. Sunday were called to Massachusetts 93 near a Dorchester exit to investigate a report of a vehicle that had crashed through a guardrail and went off the roadway. They said they found Lambright on the ground outside his vehicle, unconscious and suffering from serious injuries.

Emergency medical personnel from Boston pronounced Lambright dead at the scene.

Authorities determined Lambright was driving south on the highway when, “for reasons which remain under investigation,” his vehicle crashed through the guardrail on the right side of the roadway, according to the release.

It wasn’t clear whether Lambright was ejected from the vehicle or exited via other means. Additional details weren’t immediately available.

“The exact cause and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation by Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police, along with the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section and the Crime Scene Services Section,” state police wrote in a press release.
