William Belter Critically Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash

A single-vehicle crash that took place in the Berrien County, Michigan on March 31, Tuesday, left one man with critical injuries. The victim has been identified as William Belter, 37, of Bainbridge Township. It remains to be seen whether the victim chooses to hire the services of a car accident lawyer.

According to the details shared by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, the single-vehicle accident took place on the Carmody Road early in the evening. The authorities were notified about it at around 6:09 p.m.

Belter was traveling eastbound on the Carmody Road when he apparently lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle he was driving has been identified as a four-door silver Buick. As Belter lost control, the vehicle left the roadway and collided with trees on the roadside. It then finally came to a stop in a ditch.

Belter sustained critical injuries in the crash. As help and rescue personnel arrived on the scene of the crash, he was rushed to the Watervliet Spectrum Hospital via an ambulance. After receiving preliminary treatment at the hospital, Belter was then air-lifted to the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo where he remains under treatment. His injuries are reported as possible life-threatening.

Meanwhile, Berrien County Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate the incident.  A key concern at this point is to determine how the accident came about and what caused Belter to lose control of the vehicle. Authorities have not ruled out common causes like alcohol and speeding yet. In cases where there are the ascertained causes, drivers usually require the services of a car accident lawyer.
