Marvin Dubey, Norman Alexander, and Two Others Injured in Alpena Traffic Wreck

The services of a car injury lawyer would come in handy following a tragic two-vehicle collision that left at least four casualties in its wake in Alpena County, Michigan. The dire occurrence played out on Monday afternoon, May 11.

Officers said the crash happened at about 2:12 p.m., at the intersection of Hamilton Road and U.S. 23 North. Reports obtained from the Alpena County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that one of two vehicles plying the route entered the crossing out of turn, leading to the crash.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a GMC Sierra pickup was traveling westbound on Hamilton, with 55-year-old Marvin Dubey, of Alpena, behind the wheels. At the same time, a Chevrolet Captiva, driven by Norman Alexander, an 82-year-old resident of Alpena, was northbound on 23.

For reasons yet to be established, the operator of the pickup failed to yield to the Chevrolet, which had the right of way at the time. As a result, it drove directly into the pickup on entering the intersection, causing damages to both vehicles.

Each vehicle was conveying two occupants when the crash occurred, and all four victims suffered serious injuries. Mary Alexander, 80, was riding alongside Norman, while James Dubey, 51, was Marvin’s passenger. First responders transported them to a hospital for treatment.

Officers ruled out speed and alcohol as possible factors in the traffic wreck. The incident remains under investigation by the  Alpena County Sheriff’s Office. The Michigan State Police Alpena-Post, Alpena Township Fire Department, and the Alpena Township Water Department also assisted at the scene.

Victims injured in traffic accidents can seek legal counsel from an experienced car injury lawyer to determine the next line of action.
