Authorities have disclosed the name of a man killed Thursday afternoon in a motorcycle crash near Saginaw.

Steve L. Flowers, 75, of St. Charles, died at an area hospital shortly after the wreck, according to car accident reports. Two women in another vehicle also reported injuries after the crash, according to the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Department.

The preliminary investigation states Flowers was driving a motorcycle near the intersection of South Graham and Spencer roads at about 1 p.m. Thursday when he collided with another vehicle. Car accident reports do not clearly state the circumstances immediately preceding the crash.

Flowers was taken by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment, according to authorities. However, he succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead, officials said.

The driver of the vehicle, an 80-year-old woman from Chesaning, and her passenger, identified as an 83-year-old woman, also sustained injuries in the crash. Deputies said both were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Car accident reports do not list the identities of either woman.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing by the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Department.

It’s unclear from information released thus far whether investigators believe either driver was at fault for the wreck. Nor have investigators said whether they believe factors like speed, inattentive driving or adverse road conditions might have contributed to the collision.

Investigators said witnesses to the crash offered conflicting reports of the incident.
