Peter Vajtal IDed As Deceased Victim of Las Vegas Auto-Motorcycle Crash

The Clark County Coroner’s Office has identified the 70-year-old Henderson man whose life ended in a tragic, fiery accident on a Las Vegas, Nevada, roadway. On Tuesday, May 26th, the coroner disclosed the victim’s name as Peter George Vajtal.

The preliminary investigation by the Nevada Highway Patrol uncovered that the motorcyclist met his end after running a red light at an intersection on Monday morning, May 25th. The investigators said that a little before 9 a.m., Vajtal was riding a Trike Can-Am motorcycle near the 215 Western Beltway bridge, precisely on South Durango Drive at Roy Horn Way.

The man was coming from the east lane of RHW and was turning onto SDD. As the Trike entered the intersection, a silver Kia Sorento struck it on the left side. The impact ejected Vajtal from his bike, and the two-wheeled drive caught fire.

First responders found the motorcyclist unresponsive on the roadway, and they were unable to revive him. The unnamed Sorento motorist was unscathed and did not seem to have any liability in the crash. The investigators ruled out the influence of an intoxicant on the part of the driver and Vajtal.

The NHP shut down the accident site for several hours while their investigators conducted preliminary investigations and cleared the scene. The accident report also contained the warning of Trooper Travis Smaka to road users.

The lawman advised motorcyclists and drivers to avoid going through intersections at top speed as it puts their lives and that of others in danger. There is no additional information at this time.
