Facts from the accident report disclosed that the crash occurred when the motorcyclist was speeding away from officers early Monday morning, June 29th. The Reno Police Department said that an officer tried to stop Ayo for reckless driving near west 4th Street and Stoker Avenue around 12:30 a.m.

Speed is one of the leading causes of motorcycle crashes, and it applies to other types of vehicle collisions. Under the maximum speed law of Nevada Vehicle Code, a person shall not drive a vehicle at a rate of speed higher than is reasonable or proper, having due regard for traffic, surface, and width of the highway, the weather condition, and other highway conditions, or at such speed as to endanger life, limb, or property of any person.
The minimum speed law states that a person shall not operate a motor vehicle at such a slow speed as to impede the normal and reasonable movement of traffic. Thus, all road users must maintain the legal speed limit and avoid going too fast or too slow.
