Authorities: Payton Fischer Killed, 2 Teens Injured In ATV Crash In Arlington

Police said a woman was killed and two teens injured in an ATV crash in a gated Arlington neighborhood late Friday night.

A woman, identified by media outlets as 20-year-old Payton Fischer, was pronounced dead at an area hospital after the crash, which occurred at about 11 p.m. Friday in a private neighborhood. An Arlington Police Department press release said two others were injured in the wreck.

Fisher reportedly was driving an all-terrain vehicle west in the 7300 block of Melissa Dianne Drive at 10:55 p.m. Friday. She had two passengers, an 18-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl, according to the press release.

At some point Fischer lost control of the ATV, striking a curb, police said.

“All three occupants were ejected from the ATV while the vehicle continued rolling until striking a house,” police wrote in the release.

Fischer was transported to Mansfield Methodist Hospital where she later was pronounced dead, according to authorities. Police said a 17-year-old girl was taken to Medical City Arlington Hospital for treatment, while the 18-year girl was treated at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation. As it occurred on a private roadway, the crash is being reported as a death investigation and not a fatal wreck.
