The Killeen Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred at the Cefco in the 1000 block of N. WS Young Drive on Sunday night.
Donald Armstead and Bryan Story were struck by a car, according to accident reports.
Police said they got a call shortly before 10:45 p.m. about a crash involving a pedestrian.
When they arrived on the scene, they discovered two people in the parking lot.
One had injuries that were not life-threatening while the other was in critical condition.
Both men were transported to Baylor Scott and White Medical Center for attention.
Police said eyewitnesses told them that a vehicle struck the duo after it jumped a curb to the parking lot.
The vehicle may have been an SUV but this has not been confirmed.
Shirlene and LeeAnna Salazar said they knew the two victims.
LeeAnna said Story was in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit while Armstead suffered a broken collar bone and head injuries. He had surgery on his shoulder, she revealed.
LeeAnna said she wanted the at-fault driver to be brought to justice so he could face up to what he did.
KPD’s traffic unit is still probing the crash. If the driver is caught, more information could be published in subsequent accident reports.
Armstead and Story have the right to seek advice and representation from a car injury lawyer in Texas. They may be able to get compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and other losses.
