Pedestrian accidents are becoming rampant. Most of these accidents would be prevented if motorists and pedestrians alike heed the advice of the police and patrol officers. The latter always tell drivers to ensure that they are alert whenever they are behind the wheels.
Drivers must also look out for pedestrians when approaching intersections, and when making a lane change. They must also be patient and avoid driving at high speed to allow them to slow down when a pedestrian suddenly enters the roadway.
According to accident reports, many pedestrian accidents occur because of drivers’ negligence or distractions. Pedestrians must also look carefully at both sides of the road before crossing. They must also avoid walking on the roads and keep to the sidewalks meant for them.
