Authorities have identified the man killed Saturday night when he was ejected during a single-vehicle rollover crash in Orange County.
Ramond T. Henry, 55, of Bridge City, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck, which occurred at about 8 p.m. Saturday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. No other vehicles were involved in the crash and no other injuries were listed on car accident reports.
Troopers said Henry was driving on FM 105 near Alpine Street at about 8 p.m. Saturday when he lost control of his vehicle on a curve in the roadway. The vehicle went off the roadway and hit a culvert, causing it to roll several times, according to car accident reports.
The vehicle finally came to a rest after rolling into a tree. However, Henry had been ejected from the vehicle during the incident. A local justice of the peace pronounced Henry dead at the scene of the crash, according to car accident reports.
Authorities did not say whether anyone else was in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Troopers said Henry likely was traveling at an unsafe speed just prior to the wreck. It is unclear whether they suspect the involvement of other contributing factors, such as the use of intoxicants.
It’s unclear whether any additional car accident reports are forthcoming.
